“Women (and men) are not in love with me but with the picture of me on the screen. I am merely the canvas on which women (and men) paint their dreams.” ~ Rudolph Valentino
Ok, alot of you have seen this crazed Twilight Fan up on YouTube... She's BEING US - LoL! This is her reaction to the ORIGINAL Twilight movie, which is of course my FAVORITE movie out of the bunch (as it is SO many other women's)! This seemed to be the perfect tribute! Thank you shining Twilight Fan STAR!
And here's ANOTHER cool video from Empire Magazine!
And here's ANOTHER cool video from Empire Magazine!
Based on all the tedious research I've done over the past three weeks... I just want all the actors of Twilight to know, that you ALL obviously did an AMAZING job of bringing things like personality & substance to the characters of Twilight. I keep reading over and over again that the main characters, especially, had very little personality in the books - and I haven't read them.
That may very well be one of the reasons why so many people are so obsessed about you - us fans are still "hungry" from lack of substance, so we turn to you for "more". I have no idea if that's true or not - I'm just a semi-crazy, middle-aged, estranged Twilight movie fan-lady with absolutely NO formal writing expertise or education, at all. What would I know?
Alot of Twilight snobs get angry because you Twilight actors always take all the big, "people-voted" awards home - they don't feel you deserve it, I guess. Based on the huge pile of evidence, you SO F*#!*** DESERVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM!

And while I really don't want to single out any "one" person because I think you've all done SUCH a wonderful job - I don't think there is a character in the mix that doesn't seem to be just about as cool as they can possibly be in the movies...
But, I've seen (and heard) alot of criticism about Kristen Stewart as Bella - some of you GROWN women out there are SO out of line, it's ridiculous! (You know who you are and you know what I mean! YES, the date at the top of this post is correct. This was written LONG BEFORE the 'robsten' PR assaults started.) The character of Bella could have come across as such a doormat in the movies, but for as much as Kristen Stewart had to stand around as "Bella's life happens to her" during the first 3 movies - through all those sad/harrowing emotions full of angst - She came across as a strong Bella who both "looked & seemed" strong even when she was in vulnerable situations and was helpless. She made Bella believable for awhile for those of us who weren't mesmerized by Stephenie Meyer's extraordinary (apparently) character-writing capabilities. I don't know, maybe she deserves an OSCAR for that, ha!
So, yeah, there isn't one of you Twilight character actors that we're not all keeping at least a casual eye on... Thanks for brightening up alot of really crummy days, and for being really the only reason why alot of us will probably ever finish watching the two ending movies of Twilight: Breaking Dawn.
Kristen Stewart ~ Bella Swan - Our beloved Twilight heroine (the one who gets to experience all those "DESIRES" that the majority of the rest of us can only imagine and dream about) - at the moment, ha! ;>
Sarah Clarke ~ Renée - Bella's kooky Mom (who reminds me an awful lot of me - LoL!
Billy Burke ~ Charlie Swan - Bella's tall, dark, handsome, "cop hands", YUMMY Dad!
Gil Birmingham ~ Billy Black - Charlie's BFF since forever, and Chief of the Quileute Tribe. THANK YOU, Sir for such a "real" (and sexy!) portrayal (from what I can see from a Caucasian woman's perspective) of indigenous American-Indian culture in this country. I would LOVE to see more stories surrounding current American-Indian culture - its beautiful & fascinating, and deserves a MUCH bigger place in mainstream American movies & literature.
Update 5/20/12 - I'm going to insert this article about how the REAL, indigenous Quileute American-Indian Tribe feels about how their culture has been portrayed in Twilight; because I really do NOT think you Twihards "get" this. (And I know you're coming in here - this is one of my most popular pages, ha!)
As BLOOD is to a Vampire - So this beautiful, UNIQUE culture and place would be for JACOB and his family! It's ONE thing to take some obscure fable and twist it into a story, but it is ENTIRELY ANOTHER to take a real Human culture's CREATION "Oral History" (that's what they are called) and treat it with as much disrespect as the writer of Twilight has.
It is a creation story NO LESS SIGNIFICANT to this World than our MUCH younger Judo-Christian story. Stephenie Meyer COULD have taken the time to write it into her story in a MUCH more responsible way - and she SHOULD HAVE.
WHY is this important? I live near reservations now and I grew up around them in the Midwest as a child. I HAD native friends who were/are very dear to me, and I KNOW how much this would mean to them - and OBVIOUSLY, the Quileute Tribe wouldn't have went out of their way to host a site like this if at least some of them didn't have strong feelings about this subject.
This isn't how you write a saga or a beautiful fairytale, Children... You KNOW this.

Taylor Lautner ~ Jacob Black - Son of Billy Black, and Bella's 'ol mudpie-making-buddy turned Werewolf who falls in love with her despite her obsession with the amazing, sparkly vamp competition. I have to admit, before I watched New Moon... I was talking to my friend Steve about "how it was going to be impossible for New Moon to make me believe that Bella could ever be in love with anyone else but Edward". But when I watched the movie a few days after that, I TOTALLY could see how that could happen! The Eclipse movie may not have been very convincing for me as far as the Jacob-Bella love story goes; but it isn't because I couldn't believe that it "could" happen - I just didn't get to "see it happen" in the detail that we all got to watch Bella's relationship develop with Edward. I know, I know... I should read the damn books! Maybe someday I will, I have them, after all - ha! I have a piece of advice for furthering your acting career, even though I'm probably not officially qualified to be giving acting advice (but I guess I kind of feel like the whole wide world is listening to me, even though they obviously aren't - ha!)... Everyone keeps talking about how you would make a great action-movie actor - and you would! - But I think you should try do at least ONE really good - hold out for the right one - romance! That scene where Jacob is telling Bella he loves her in New Moon was DEVASTATING to us girls - GO FOR IT!
Justin Chon ~ Eric - Bella's highschool friend who tries to take her under his wing on her first day of school. Who doesn't love Eric, he's so sweet and sensitive and cares about stuff like BELLA and writing, etc. And the scene in New Moon when they are all sitting in a row watching Romeo & Juliet in class with him crying is SO adorable!
Michael Welch ~ Mike Newton - Another one of Bella's highschool friends and classic "jock". You know, I can totally identify with Bella on not really getting into Mike despite his best efforts. I've never really been into jocks, so it makes perfect sense to me. But I came across a blog post one time done by a guy whose wife had dragged him along to Twilight. And the poor guy had a good point... "I'm more like Mike, why isn't MIKE one of the guys Bella is considering to spend eternal bliss with?" It was kind of funny... If I ever find the article again, I'll add it here.
Anna Kendrick ~ Jessica - Thanks for being the Twilight girl that we all love to hate. Every highschool had at least one girl like this - in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, it was Cordelia - no doubt, one of my FAVORITE Buffy characters. They can say anything and get "right to it". One of my favorite Twilight scenes is the graduation speech in Eclipse. It was PERFECT!
Christian Serratos ~ Angela - Another highschool girlfriend of Bella's... This really was ME in high school - a camera in my hand and always thinking up a new story. She's "my kind" of geeky girl and I LOVE her for it!
Nikki Reed ~ Rosalie Hale - One of the Cullen girls, married to Emmet Cullen. I've always had a soft spot for Rosalie - I think because she always seemed like "the voice of reason". She always seemed moreso of a "mamma bear" than Esme, even - I think that came out alot more after I had read Midnight Sun, however. Plus, the movies deleted a scene in Eclipse with Rosalie that I thought should have been left in... About her desire for a baby. There's alot more to Rosalie than meets the eye. There is a small part of me that is secretly happy inside for Rosalie that she indirectly (kinda) "gets her baby" in the end... Even if I haven't read about it, ha!
Kellan Lutz ~ Emmet Cullen - Big (and beautiful!) Brother of the Cullen clan (and Rosalie's sweetheart)... Carefree, lighthearted, fun-loving; and yet, you DEFINITELY get the impression that he's a no-nonsense, do-whatever-it-takes-all-the-way-to-the-DEATH kind of vamp not to be tangled with - SO fun!
Ashley Greene ~ Alice Cullen - Oh my GOSH, I could just go on and on and ON about Alice Cullen - I LOVE her character! I have a theory about Alice... She's so damn extra-circularly happy & carefree because she HAS NO MEMORY of EVER being Human - of course, ha! I've read some mildly-disappointed posts from Twilight book fans regarding the movies; about how they don't seem to really portray the fact that Alice & Bella become best friends - I would have loved to have seen more of that, if that is true! Her hubby is Jasper...
Jackson Rathbone ~ Jasper Hale - Ok, correct me if I'm wrong, ladies... But doesn't Jas have a whole hell of alot of that sexually-obsessive draw that we all feel so much for Edward? Deep and dark with a mysterious past AND he can literally "sense our feelings!"... AND he's head-over-heels for Alice no matter how crazy she is! Yeah, Jasper is HOT! ;>
Robert Pattinson ~ Edward Cullen - You know, I'm not really sure WHAT I would say to the person who has probably had to put up with the most sh*t from us crazy Twilight fans - other than (especially from those of us who have not read the books) - it is ENTIRELY YOUR OWN FAULT for doing such a damn good job! I sure as hell HOPE you don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Because, 1) I saw all the sparkly vamp posters of Edward and Bella hanging all over the place and on every magazine for those couple of years before Eclipse was coming out, and was completely content without knowing who you were during all that time (no offense). I didn't fall in love with Twilight just because you're so pretty to look at; and it was maybe 3 or 4 weeks before I was curious enough about your work before I looked up "what else" you've been in - and that was Little Ashes. You have a GIFT, Mr. Pattinson - I swear, it didn't seem so much like you were acting during Little Ashes, but moreso like you were CHANNELING the character of Salvador Dali! I've never met the man of course, but have always been an admirer of his; and your portrayal of him was exactly as I "would have expected" him to be - from beginning to end. I've watched it once again since then, and I still think so, I was terribly moved by the performance! You've obviously got an amazing talent to "get into the soul" of a character and tell that character's story across the screen. I don't care what all the critics have to say about what they seemingly constantly refer to as "bad acting". DON'T change a thing about what you're doing... just PERFECT IT! (For the fun of it, I'm inserting my Cosmopolis Movie Review here. I'll do one on Kristen's "On the Road", too, when I get to it. ;)
José Zúñiga ~ Mr. Molina - An ode to cool teachers, everywhere... For me, it was my English & Art teachers, respectively. Mr. Molina was cool and brought up warm feelings from those old HS memories. Thanks for portraying such a cool teacher!
Peter Facinelli ~ Dr. Carlisle Cullen - Patriarch of the Cullen Clan... Ok, so I have an alternative reason for being a Peter Facinelli fan - I'm a HUGE fan of Jennie Garth (90210, anyone?!) GOSH, I'm so happy she ended up with such a hunk - and she seems pretty happy! Thank you for sharing, Jennie! ; >(Gosh, I've just heard about their impending divorce... WoW and WooPs! I feel like I should change what this says, but I don't know what to say differently, yet. So sad, and so sorry Jenny & Peter. Good luck to you both and to your family.)
Rachelle Lefevre ~ Victoria - I'm sorry, I missed out on all the hoopla surrounding the big "Twilight's got a different Victoria" scandal. But damn, you were a COOL Vampire! That scene at the end of Twilight where you're heartbroken and then smirking as you walk down the stairs as the credits start is GOLDEN! It is one of my favorite scenes in the movie!
Cam Gigandet ~ James - Be STILL my HEART! GRRRRRRR... Now THERE'S a VAMPIRE!
Edi Gathegi ~ Laurent - And didn't this character just bring you the chills... You just KNEW he wasn't going to be Mr. Niceguy throughout the entire story!
Elizabeth Reaser ~ Esme Cullen - I don't think they did enough with Mama Cullen (married to Carlisle)... I would have liked to have seen more "Cullen family dynamics" in these movies. She definitely seemed like a really cool character.
And you know, I ALMOST forgot someone who was OBVIOUSLY integral to the success of the original Twilight movie - maybe we all needed her to stay on board throughout the entire franchise. Thank you GOBS & GOBS & WHOLE BUNCHES & GOBS to Catherine Hardwicke, Director of the original Twilight movie, who obviously had a finger on the pulse of "what was so special" about TWILIGHT!
