You’re obviously a fan and you care enough to create this open forum.

When it comes to any type of writing and the big screen, especially when it comes to demographics, it’s going to be chewed and that’s unfortunate. I also agree that the writers are pretty lame and have in some way gotten into the psyche of the Twilight watcher in ways that might not be completely authentic.

I’m many would agree with you on your points... some might disagree but that’s the beauty about this blog you’ve created.NellyBnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-9725880961391779172012-04-14T08:32:45.221-07:002012-04-14T08:32:45.221-07:00Thanks for the support for a crazy person - I appr...Thanks for the support for a crazy person - I appreciate it, ha! I replied to your post on my blog without realizing I wasn't actually "replying" to you - so, FYI.

And also, I realize that one of them sounds a little "hot". The *you* that I am referring to in my 2nd post is largely toward the people who don't see anything at all wrong with this story, and whose "noise" & support caused these movies to be made like this.

I appreciate that YOU seem to know what this story is and can get past it, anyway. But not today or anytime soon.

NOT because I don't WANT to. IF I get no other point across in here this one should be clear to you - suspension of belief is an important literary concept that was completely ignored within Twilight. *I* (and a whole bunch of other people like me) WOULD NOT have been debunked and thrown into such chaotic emotional turmoil IF this important concept had been taken seriously - as it SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

I'm MAD because I'm FORCED to go THROUGH this SHIT - just because SMeyer and the rest of you INSISTED on staying in this crap. I really don't think your perverted fun should be had at ANYONE else's expense - not mine or anyone's.

I'm sorry, I simply do NOT appreciate the frame of mind I am in (yeah, I know what your opinion is regarding this, too - it's *my fault* that I'm fucked in the head). I WOULDN'T BE HERE if "The Twilight Saga" had been written AND PUBLISHED RESPONSIBLY.

MAYBE someday I'll laugh about all this - not today.Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-9098116141277085382012-04-12T20:33:16.368-07:002012-04-12T20:33:16.368-07:00Thanks Anonymous, sorry I haven't been paying ...Thanks Anonymous, sorry I haven't been paying much attention to comments in here, lately.

I've heard that Breaking Dawn is nothing but well-done and beautiful (except for the talking wolf scene, everyone seems to unanimously agree that is a bad scene with few exceptions, ha!)

I've also heard that they changed how Bella is changed into a Vampire - by making everyone think that she might actually be dead for awhile before the big drama of her opening her eyes.

I was disappointed to hear that... I may not have read the books, but I did read portions that interested me; and I thought the part where Bella was changing into a Vampire was well-written and suspenseful. Her heart was beating until she turns and then it stops, and it seems like the whole world skips a beat for a second. It's an intense moment, and they CHANGED IT?! WHY do they keep changing the things they don't need to change, and NOT change the things they NEED to change?

It's actually kinda funny just how behind the mark I am; and yet, I don't think anything could have been done about this issue before now - not before BD was almost done and Twihards could breath a sigh of relief.

Still... I think there are some really good reason to open this debate again.

I understand that this blog is not only long-winded, but written by someone who just can't tone it down anymore.

So to maybe summarize my main points in here:

1) Why is it Ok for such a badly-written (literally, not just the storyline) book to be an acceptable thing for ANY professional piece of work that gets published? What are we saying to our kids in regards to what kinds of literary practices get rewarded in this world? I mean, why work for anything if you can just slip through the cracks like Stephenie did?

2) I think this point gets missed the most... I don't think this story would have been harmful AT ALL if it had NOT been directed at young girls. This story was originally an ADULT novel, then worked into a YA novel JUST so that the dysfunctional mythological aspects of it could be brushed off. But YA's were already familiar with these creatures. SM supposedly wrote this for them... I say she USED them, and they/we got WAY more addicted than we would/should have because of manipulative, greedy companies who did not do their profession jobs well enough. This is what my petition is about.

3) What about next time someone wants to publish such destructive literature to the financially-lucrative YA mass audience - it's Ok as long as you tap into where women live & breath so that you have their passions behind them backing whatever crappy thing you're trying to pass off, out here...

4) MOST IMPORTANT... What about all the people before me of ALL AGES AMONG BOTH GENDERS who were debunked by this dysfunctional storyline ending and suffered varying degrees of emotional distress because of it? I'm obviously late to the party, but it doesn't change the fact that SM caused MANY of her fans the SAME kind of distress at the time Breaking Dawn was published as you see me exhibit in here. I'm NO DIFFERENT than they are/were - really. We should have ALL gotten a "beautiful fairytale" not just some of us.

I loved Twilight, and I feel nothing but betrayed by the author and those who stuck up for this book so passionately for so long with all these glaring, VALID comments, opinions and yeah - even FACTS.

So yeah - I'm STILL trying to make this go VIRAL because I don't think any of the creators of this pathetic excuse for a saga deserved one red cent they earned off of Twilight.

Please read through this... I'm NOT a hateful, unreasonable or even completely crazy person. I'm just someone who is a little wonky who also happens to be right about the majority of this.

What are we going to do about it? WHY do anything?

Watch my videos, please... and be prepared to hit the pause button, there are alot of things on the screen you'll miss that are not being said.

And, thanks. :)Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-58156743225506913362012-02-14T07:23:18.518-08:002012-02-14T07:23:18.518-08:00I posted the last reply and I agree the movie only...I posted the last reply and I agree the movie only fans should not be snubbed things should have been explained in the movie so you don't have to run out and read the booksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-78995428754649732012-02-14T07:08:16.761-08:002012-02-14T07:08:16.761-08:00I haven't even gotten through a portion of you...I haven't even gotten through a portion of your stuff but I had to stop here just to say. I'm a big fan of the books and I was disappointed in the whole baby thing BUT seeing as how it is fiction AND someone elses sexual fantacy I was able to accept it well enough (I'm no writer but I would like to think I could have come up with something a little better too) because at the end of the day the author made the Edward fans happy and kept Jacob in Bellas life wich most likely kept team Jacob fans happy too. Seeing as how I did read the books all the way through I have tried very hard to keep my opinions about the movie as non-judgemental as possible , But I admit it's not easy the 1st movie is one I love to hate. I love the movie but hate it because it does veer so far away from the book that it just annoys me to no end. The 2nd was better by a slight margine because the budget was better and it stayed with the book a little better (let me add here I hate hate hated Alices hair in 1,2,and 3 lol sorry it's a trivial thing I know) but was still lacking in the intencity of the emotions in the book. 3rd again better because it stayed truer to the book then the prevous 2 BUT still left out soo much of the emotion between Bella, Jacob, and Edward witch was needed to make this fairytale/horror story stay interesting. I am not a Twihard addict but I enjoied the books and the movies make it easier to visualize the charaters even though some of them where not what I had visualized while reading the books. Breaking Dawn part 1 really in my opinion made up for Twilight being such a terrible movie. They focused on the important things from the book very well and I was impressed with the detail of the pregnancy and birth of the unexplainable baby. All in all I think the books and movies shouldn't be taken for anymore then what they are a pretty good way to pass time when you are bored A good was to leave reality for a while and have your dream man tell you how perfect and loved you are every second while in this alternate reality. Things like Twilight are not meant to be taken so seriously relax and have fun with it An I was dissapointed with several things in the book Breaking Dawn but thats what makes the journey of reading so fun not knowing how it will end until it's too late to turn back even when it didn't end how you wanted it to.

So far I am enjoying what I am reading here keep up the good work express yourself even if NOONE agrees with you or EVERYONE does.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-86530238946899598722012-01-06T23:03:18.880-08:002012-01-06T23:03:18.880-08:00GOD - *I* WOULDN'T HAVE PUT ONE FUCKING SECOND...GOD - *I* WOULDN'T HAVE PUT ONE FUCKING SECOND TOWARDS TWILIGHT HAD I KNOWN HOW FUCKED UP IT WAS TO BEGIN WITH!

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MADDENING IT IS TO NOT BE ABLE TO DROP IT LIKE THE BOMB IT IS!Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-87555513342757186852012-01-06T22:42:10.491-08:002012-01-06T22:42:10.491-08:00BTW, YEAH for those of you who have MISSED it... T...BTW, YEAH for those of you who have MISSED it... This blog is VERY MUCH on behalf of people who are/were are crazy as I am about Twilight - whether they like it or not. READ my FIRST blog post ALL the WAY thru to find out WHY! You've spent ALL this time on the Twilight Saga, I'm sure you can find another half hour or so to put towards it.Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-61303624417226461552012-01-06T22:27:46.876-08:002012-01-06T22:27:46.876-08:00Ummmmmm... Thanks for the opinion. I'm really ...Ummmmmm... Thanks for the opinion. I'm really sorry if my writing is scattered and long. I've already spent SO much time on this, and honestly - I REALLY don't think its THAT bad, but opinions are opinions. I've already admitted that brevity isn't my best suit.

And thanks for the recommendation on being an author - it is, in fact, one of the reasons why I've never pursued it. All my stuff turns out alot like Stephenie Meyer's - that's probably another reason why I can recognize it, ha!

And also just FYI... I've BEEN to lots of therapy sessions over the course of my life with various "specialists". They don't work for me - which is one of the reasons why I've just "given up" and live my life the dysfunctional "way" I do.

And by the way... I may be f*#k** in the head, but I know good storytelling when I see it - and THIS ISN'T IT!

YOU DIDN'T EVEN READ THE LINKS ALONG THE SIDE, DID YOU - COWARD!Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-80748831358768933422012-01-06T20:33:25.342-08:002012-01-06T20:33:25.342-08:00You ARE ridiculous as you stated. The only differ...You ARE ridiculous as you stated. The only difference I would point out is that you should have pointed out how ridiculousy idiotic and psychotic you are as well! If I were you, I wouldn't quit my day job (in other words, your writing makes little to no sense and you have absolutely NO future in it!!) This is a fiction book. If you don't like it, don't read it. Simple as that! I have just recently began the series, mostly out of curiosity to see what all the fuss was about, and since everyone praises the storyline. I think it is well written, imaginative (which is a staple in any good fiction piece), and fun. While I wouldn't consider it the best book series I have ever read,(actually, not even close!), I can see the draw for young girls! You sound like you are one of the seriously obsessed that you speak about. You may want to seriously consider setting up an appointment with that friend of yours, (Steven?), for a psychological evaluation! Stephenie Meyers, the "amateur" writer you speak of, is laughing her "amateur" bum all the way to the bank!! Stop hating on her talent and stroke of luck! It would also be in your best interest to find a new calling in life, because the writing in your blog is long, scattered, boring, and ridiculous... pretty much the exact opposite of Mrs. Meyers writing! I just wish I could get the time back that I spent skimming through this crap! I'm not even sure why I didn't hit 'X' on the page after the first sentence!WhoDoYouThinkYouAre?https://www.blogger.com/profile/17931363101555939764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-25469515080320186522012-01-01T20:28:00.540-08:002012-01-01T20:28:00.540-08:00Ok, I'll try again... I JUST want you all to l...Ok, I'll try again... I JUST want you all to look at this stuff and figure out why you're so in LOVE with Twilight. I learned so much about myself when I finally started looking at it.

I'm not asking you to "let Twilight go" (in fact, I REALLY don't think that's a good idea - I WISH I could have HELD onto it!)...

HONESTLY, my preferred ending to my conflicts with the Breaking Dawn storyline would have been for me to accept it by the time the movie came out in theaters - and I was REALLY working on bringing myself past my silly hangups - because I GET that all this is really so damn silly of me. What the hell WAS my problem with the storyline, I really couldn't figure it out for awhile. I kept trying to brush it aside, but it kept gnawing in the back of my brain. I WANTED to STAY in my FANTASY!

And then when all this occurred to me, it snowballed into what you see now. You may not believe this, but I'm REALLY almost just as mad at myself for being so ridiculous as the rest of you are.

But once I began to understand how harmful this beautiful story has really been on our culture - the people I felt the most sympathy for was the book fans who had originally been embedded by this story who ended up so defunked. I could REALLY feel for them because they HAD to be so much more into the story and practically dying for it to be published than I was in looking forward to the movies coming out. To be SO let down has really been disheartening.

I'm 10 years old inside, and I'm pouting and stomping my feet and throwing a fit because I REALLY don't think its very fair of you all to get such a DAMN COOL STORY and NOT ME!

HA! Yeah, you're right... I AM selfish, what can I say?!

Can't we talk?

I'd really prefer to keep this all in the family. Surely all of us Twilight fans can find a way to co-exist? We have ONE really powerful "thing" in common, after all - we all LOVE TWILIGHT, Dearly!Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.com
