In my opinion, you are helping me to PROVE that these people exist (since you're all so good at ignoring them out here).

You think you're telling me something NEW? There are people out there SUFFERING with what you just describe from this saga who are NOT ME.

*I* AM in the RIGHT with my accusations - if I was not things would be different. I would REALLY appreciate it if you would ALL start reading the damn blog and judge it for what is IN IT, instead of looking for issues with my head - because my head is NO DIFFERENT than anyone else's on this planet.

Who I am, f*cking Galileo that you feel a need to prove I'm crazy so that people won't listen to me - so I can't show them the OBVIOUS?

Are you all so far gone that you have COMPLETELY lost all sense of reason and common sense?

Or ARE you someone sent from SUMMIT who has finally caught on that I'm out here; and you've all decided this is important enough for you to be interested in, now?

Doing a little damage-control, maybe?Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-79670783322221883082012-11-25T22:24:36.353-08:002012-11-25T22:24:36.353-08:00Thank you for making the time I spent "readin...Thank you for making the time I spent "reading" this incoherent ramble worth my while. You hit the nail on the head. I kept reading, sadly, thinking an intelligent point was going to be made. But or wasn't. I too was obsessed with certain TV shows and stars and singers, and then as I got older my obsessions switched focus, to real people, to drugs, to collecting certain objects.

The "pain and turmoil" never went away, but I have learned to manage it with the help of a psychologist. I suggest you do the same. You also use the term "debunked" incorrectly.

All I can perceive is that you're claiming,"some girls and women are too obsessed with Twilight and it causes them emotional turmoil". Google "Beatlemania" and you'll see fan hysteria is nothing new.

Take Bieber fever. It's similar, expect that Twiliight has a love story that women can "place themselves" into. Young women often have raging sexual hormones but limited sexual experience and these fantasies are a way of "playing" with ideas of love, sex and exploring their own desires for these things in a fantasy environment. It's normal and has been happening since the dawn of time.

Older women who are truly "obsessed" with Twilight are often women who are unhappy in their own relationships, lonely or lacking choices in partners, and enjoy a fantasy of perfect love, often the same way a man might enjoy porn.

As for "blaming" the books and claiming they are deliberately orchestrated to cause obsession, that's very far-fetched idea and in fact, if it was so easy to predict and create such a massive success as Twilight, companies would release a new "addictive" series every month.

In actual fact, the success of any franchise is a combination of marketing, timing and public consciousness. In other words, right story, right time, right marketing campaign. And that formula is very difficult to crack.

Lastly, a lot of the fans who have become "too obsessive" about the series, beyond the usual girlish hysteria, could be suffering from obsessive disorders such as OCD, or anxiety and depression. A young woman's first experiences of something they feel strong emotions over can reveal disorders that will develop as they grow and age.

If you find you're obsessed with something, more often than not, you are making up for problems and issues you already have and that need addressing.

If you feel you cannot control your "obsession" with Twilight - which is now manifesting as an obsession with "proving" Twilight "causing pain and turmoil" you may be suffering from an obsessive compulsive illness. And that does truly cause pain and turmoil, but it's not the fault of the books.

I think you're trying to make sense of the irrational feelings you are feeling and the pain they cause you. You would do better speaking to a psychologist and getting to the root of your obsessive feelings than continuing your Twilight obsession with this "campaign" you are running here on this blog and on many message boards.

It's still an obsession, don't you see? You have just switched focus - from Buffy to Twilight to a campaign to "debunk" Twilight. Those obsessions are in YOU. And without treatment you may find that you will go your whole life getting obsession and suffering over new and deeper obsessions when Twilight is a distant memory. Everyone is so forgiving. That's really nice of you. And IF these books hadn't have CAUSED ALL THIS PAIN AND TURMOIL - yeah, I guess it WOULD BE OKAY for those of you who found NOTHING BUT JOY in these books. We didn't all find joy.

If you are a Buffy fan, then you KNOW this story COULD have been done believably for ALL OF US. Why is it SO EASY for you all to dismiss people like me who had SUCH a BAD experience with these books - AND you CAN SEE how much DAMAGE these irresponsible obsessions have brought on the WORLD?

All this stuff MIGHT have been Okay at ONE point in time (since the experiences of us debunked fans means NOTHING to the rest of you) - but it ISN'T ANYMORE since this PR crap started.

How can NONE of you be at all concerned about all these OBVIOUS, PAINFUL OBSESSIONS and what they've DONE and ARE DOING to us, inside?Catherine Mostlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05373360094786643055noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588692465519021852.post-77171912702094175902012-10-18T19:32:44.742-07:002012-10-18T19:32:44.742-07:00I'm 20 and I know the books are shallow and ha...I'm 20 and I know the books are shallow and have flaws but they, - like most of my books - have become my friends I enjoy them, and accept their flaws....that's all P.S. I'm a HUGE Buffy fan ;) I have all 7 seasons on DVD :P I never thought to compare them though twilight is twilight and Buffy is Buffy...they both have flaws but they both have some really enjoyable parts also.that's my take on it.
